Tammi Hartung, author of Homegrown Herbs, has nearly 30 years of experience growing and using herbs. She and her husband, Chris, own Desert Canyon Farm, a wholesale, USDA-certified organic farm and greenhouse operation. They raise more than 500 varieties of herbs and nearly 175 varieties of heirloom and ethnic vegetables, and they sell wholesale to garden centers throughout Colorado and New Mexico. They also produce over 50 varieties of perennial flowers as seed crops for a German seed company. Hartung is a frequent teacher and lecturer at herb and gardening conferences worldwide. She lives in Colorado.
